It’s time to Download Project Lavina and try Chaos Group’s new real-time ray tracing system based on Microsoft’s DirectX Raytracing (DXR) technology. The Project Lavina is an upcoming Chaos Group product for real-time exploring and manipulating of V-Ray scenes within a 100% ray-traced environment.
“We’ve come a long way in five years,” said Lon Grohs, Global Head of Creative at Chaos Group. “When CONSTRUCT started, Kevin was visualizing characters at 24 frames a second with over $250,000 in hardware behind him. Today, he could just use Lavina, achieving full ray tracing with even higher fidelity on a $1,000 RTX card. Artists have never seen anything like this. Now that it’s within reach, it’s going to change everything.”
Workflow from 3d max (Maya) to Project Lavina
After download and set up you can easily test with vrscenes exported from 3ds Max and Maya. Artists simply drag and drop their V-Ray scenes to explore them immediately in real-time – without the complex setup of a game engine.
System requirements
– V-Ray Next Render License (supplied with any V-Ray Next product)
– Windows 10 with Update 1809 or later
– NVIDIA RTX GPU (maximum of two)
– NVIDIA Driver 419 or later
