The Blender Foundation has announced that Blender 2.82 is now available. This release has over a thousand fixes and several important updates that were planned for the 2.8 series. Also In this release you will find UDIM and USD support, Manta-Flow fluids and smoke simulation, AI denoising, Grease Pencil improvements.
Blender 2.82 Features are:
- – Manta-flow fluid simulation: Its implementation both unifies and modernizes the software’s physics tools. Liquid simulations also get a new FLIP solver.
- – UDIM: The popular tiled-based UV mapping system is now fully integrated in Blender’s pipeline.
- – Pixar USD Export: Blender now supports Pixar’s very own open source Universal Scene Description. USD files can contain complex layering, overriding, and references to other files. Blender’s USD Exporter takes a much simpler approach.
- – AI Denoiser: Cycles now supports the AI-Accelerated Denoiser from OptiX, for NVIDIA RTX graphics cards. It supports multiple GPUs, brings impressive results with low samples. And built into Blender’s view layer system.
- – EEVEE Improvement: Many improvements such as better group node sockets, normal mapping for non-mesh objects, performance and quality of render passes.
- – Grease Pencil: Many changes in the user interface, dopesheet updates, new tools and modifiers.
And You can now download Blender 2.82 here!. The Blender team released a planning for projects in 2020. Focus for this year will be on quality and finishing up projects that already started years ago.
