5 Videos tutorial about Volumetrics and SSS in Corona Renderer for 3ds Max with some tips and tricks.
Corona is a physically-based renderer, and just like in the real world, volumetric effects are a property of the material that light passes through. And It’s not a property of the light source itself. This means that volumetrics are created in Corona using materials, and no special settings are required in the light sources themselves.
SSS mode is quick and easy to setup, this can be done without the need of translucency, refraction or opacity. Commonly, the surface of an SSS object is somewhat opaque and it’s inner body or volume is thick. For example: skin, wax, strawberries, jade.
