Flip Fracture Houdini Tutorial
Flip Fracture Houdini tutorial by Diffuse FX. This is a relatively straightforward workflow for emulating fracturing within a FLIP simulation using per-point viscosity. Along the way the video covers a bit about shading / uv-ing fluids using the dual rest method. And last thing is close with an alternative approach to the workflow that preserves more of the classic RBD-destruction look.

A few experiments using FLIP to make RBD-like fracturing effects.
All FLIP approach – using per-particle viscosity differences to emulate pieces. Single-rest-based UV’ing, so a bit of popping and distortion in the bump textures.
Hybrid approach – an initial RBD sim is used to drive a secondary FLIP sim.
All FLIP approach, rendered as particles.
